Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Alexander Koch

Dr. Alexander Koch holds a doctorate in electrical engineering, is a professor of measurement systems and sensor technology and a professional representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorney).

Dr. Alexander Koch studied electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and obtained his doctorate in laser diagnostics and plasma physics at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich. He was also awarded a Research Fellow of the Max Planck Society at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics and habilitated in the field of electrophysics. As holder of the Chair of Measurement Systems and Sensor Technology at TUM and as a member of the German Institute for Science and Technology, TUM-Asia in Singapore, Dr. Koch has supported several tech start-ups from TUM by means of suitable patent strategies. At prof. koch+partners, he specializes in the fields of electronics, sensor technology, optomechatronic systems, photonic processes, laserphysics and electrophysics.

Dr. rer. nat. Florian Matl

Dr. Florian Matl is a licensed pharmacist, holds a doctorate in pharmacy, is a German patent attorney and a professional representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorney). Dr. Matl studied pharmacy at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. After a research stay at the University of Otago (New Zealand), Dr. Matl obtained his doctorate in the field of vascular implantation infections at the Technical University of Munich.

Dr. Matl’s areas of expertise include pharmaceutical technology, pharmacology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, organic and inorganic chemistry. He represents clients in grant, opposition and appeal proceedings before the German and European Patent Offices and the Federal Patent Court. He also represents clients in patent infringement proceedings before German courts.

Dr. rer. nat. Christian Huber

Dr. Christian Huber holds a doctorate in chemistry, is a German patent attorney and a professional representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorney). Dr. Huber’s areas of expertise at prof. koch+partners include biotechnology, genetic engineering, biochemistry and other fields of organic and inorganic chemistry such as polymers, plastics and ceramics. With over twenty years of experience in the field of intellectual property, Dr. Huber is a specialist in patent prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings. Furthermore, Dr. Huber supports clients in infringement and nullity actions before regional and national German courts.

Dr. Huber studied chemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, where he obtained his doctorate in the field of immunogenetics. He received an award from Hoechst AG for his doctoral thesis.
